Llevo más de diez días tratando de comprar un regalo en la nueva tienda Agua y Jabón. Cuando finalmente pude entrar por primera vez —sábado en la tarde del 2 de junio, después de hacer la cola escondido del sol—, al poner la tarjeta RED y mi carnet sobre la mesa, la joven cajera con voz infantil me dijo: —No hay conexión. El lunes siguiente en la mañana, antes de iniciar el ritual comercial pregunté por la existencia de la conexión: —Sí hay. Han pasado tarjetas hoy. Me respondió atentamente el portero. De nuevo en la caja con la anhelada mercancía, el POS no encontró conexión. Por su restablecimiento unos minutos en vano esperé. Hoy —5 de junio— regresé al medio día y la respuesta del portero ¿Se la imaginan? Es la única tienda que vende lo que necesito. ¡Llevo “cuatro” días para comprar un regalo por el 28 de mayo! ¿Será que me estarán protegiendo de gastar el saldo de mi tarjeta? Regresé al establecimiento de marras el 13 de febrero del año en curso con el mismo objetivo: Comprar un regalo para mi esposa. Sin congestión en la puerta me asomé al interior y pregunté si había conexión. Me respondieron que sí, y fui hacia la caja a verificar: —Están pasando las tarjetas, pero después de unas tres se cae la conexión. Respondió la cajera, de apariencia parecida a la de la historia anterior.
Ipso facto cogí el pomo de champú con la esperanza de que la dichosa conexión en mi caso no fuera la “tercera o cuarta” tarjeta en pasar. Pero no, la suerte estaba echada. Otra vez en Agua y Jabón (La Cabalgata) me mortificaba, mientras perdía el tiempo miserablemente.
Regresé al día siguiente, pues era el día del cual no podía pasar mi obsequio de marido atento y enamorado. Con la misma cantaleta le entré a quien me debía bien atender. En el anaquel el precio indicaba 2, 40 CUC. Tomé un pomo con un rótulo en mayúsculas que decía Keratina. Al pasarle el lector de código de barras vi un 3, 35 en el display de la caja e inmediatamente inquiero por esa cifra, si correspondía a mi mercancía:
—Sí, eso es lo que vale.
—Pero yo cogí uno de 2, 40. Me viro y le muestro a la cajera de dónde lo tomé.
—Pero ese es de 3, 25. ¿Qué hago, porque ya pasé su tarjeta? Me apresuró la joven empleada.
Me dieron unas ganas de arrancar el POS de donde estaba, por lo rápido que funcionó en aquel momento. Pero tratando de conservar la mayor calma posible y recuperar 85 centavos, continué la conversación:
—¿Y ahora cómo hago? Yo no me equivoqué, fueron ustedes. ¿No hay algún mecanismo para resolver el problema? ¿No sé…? ¿Una compensación por el error?
—¡No! ¿Disculpe, va a llevar el producto? Nuevamente me apresura la joven.
Como la cajera no hizo algo por ayudar, ni mostró pena por mi situación, decidí quejarme nuevamente a la administración de la tienda, como lo hice en el episodio anterior. Pero me dijeron que no estaba, que había ido a Le Varon.
—¿Entonces quién me puede asistir para quejarme, porque si lo hago en otro momento se enfría el hecho? La cajera pidió me atendiera la compañera que nos dijo la ubicación de la gerente.
